Alaska

We made it!  After a nine hour drive from Bonners Ferry to Bellingham, WA.
All of us slept well on the way except for Jeff, who stayed wide awake to drive... we think.  The first part of the journey to Alaska was a 36 hour ferry ride! We had lots of opportunities on the ferry to share Jesus, make new friends and catch up with old ones.

About to board the M/V Malaspina.
The M/V Malaspina holds 499 passengers.
We talked with people from all over the state about ministry needs.

We saw six whales and several pods of porpoises.
Caleb sharing his yoyo with a ferry employee.
Ferry staff decided to use us for life jacket demonstrators in case of an emergency. They didn't make us jump in the water. :) It's kind of like the seat belt demonstration on an airplane, only with life jackets.
We met a family moving to Kotzebue. Look that up on a map. They say there is only one tree there.
Made it to Ketchikan where four of these cruise ships were docked. A very busy place

At Clover Pass church Sunday morning.  Pastors from Thailand and Alaska that knew we were arriving were very interested in mentoring and missions opportunities. They asked Jeff to come back later in the week to discuss ministry possibilities.

Next we boarded the IFA (Interisland Ferry) to go on to Prince Of Wales Island.
Jeff talked to Indiana fishing tourists about visiting an island church on Sunday.

Friends came to greet us at the Ferry terminal in Hollis.
Several bear came to greet us at Maybeso Creek.
